• 4 slices hearty bread
  • 1 large ripe garden tomato
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese sliced
  • 8 large basil leaves or enough to cover bread
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. 1. Butter your first piece of bread and place it in your skillet. Turn on the skillet to start warming2. Add mozzarella cheese, basil, tomato , salt and pepper the tomatoes and add another layer of mozzarella.3. Transfer your sandwich to a skillet over medium heat. Cook until the cheese is melted, flipping once or twice to get both sides browned.

You can buy delicious tomatoes at farmers markets. We also have some local farmers who have little stands in our neighborhood. They are worth checking out.
